随着网络技术的发展与GIS理论和技术的不断进步发展，尤其是在百度API提供WEB开发的网络接口之后，使得企业以及个人运用GIS解决问题的现象日益普遍。通过对WEBGIS的实现原理和方法的论述与研究，运用百度API、js、json等技术在自己的计算机上编写了一个基于浏览器的系统——校园雕塑位置信息查询。经过雕塑数据信息收集、数据整理，系统分析与设计以及项目代码实现等步骤来进行系统的实现。经过系统通过链接到百度API，通过TOMCAT服务器可以访问查询大连海事大学校园内雕像的地理位置与基本信息模型，包括属性查图形、图形查属性以及路径分析等功能。
